WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY JEN PSAKI WILL RESIGN IN 2022

Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, has announced that she will resign next year to spend more time with her family.

“I think it’s going to be time for somebody else to have this job in a year from now or about a year from now,” Psaki said in an interview with CNN’s David Axelrod, her former colleague in the Obama administration, on Thursday.

Psaki, who serves as the public face of President Joe Biden’s administration and gives daily press conferences; said she wanted to spend more time with her two young children.

“It’s a great job,” she added. “It will be hard, but I also never thought I’d be here, and I also love my kids a lot.”

Jen Psaki has a long history with Biden dating back to her time in the Obama administration. She was a surprising choice for the new administration’s press secretary; considering having spent the previous four years in a number of media, consulting, and academic positions.

Psaki said that she accepted the job after reaching an agreement with Biden’s transition team that she would stay in the role for about a year, leaving in January.
