Several emails from Dr. Fauci’s account at the beginning of the pandemic showed the uncertainty about the pandemic. There were 3,000 pages of emails obtained from the Washington Post, Buzzfeed News, and CNN through the Freedom of Information Act dated between January and June 2020.
The emails revealed some lies that Dr. Fauci has told throughout the pandemic. The nation on both sides of the political spectrum is calling for a deeper investigation into America’s former hero.

Dr. Fauci paid attention to the Wuhan Lab Theory regarding the outbreak of the virus in the early parts of the pandemic. It was revealed in the emails that the theory was worth investigating. Nevertheless, Dr. Fauci quickly dismissed this idea when the media and the legislature asked him throughout the pandemic.
The Wuhan Lab Theory is still being discussed by leaders all over the world. It seemed to die down for a short period, but as the pandemic draws to a close in the United States, it is resurging.
A January 2020 email to Dr. Fauci from the director of the largest biomedical research facility discussed how unusual the virus was and that it might have been genetically modified.
Dr. Fauci responded that he would reach out with a phone call about the possibility of the virus being artificial. Although, he continued to claim that it was unlikely that COVID-19 escaped the Wuhan lab.
In April 2020, there was another email notifying Fauci that the theory had support through research. However, in May, Dr. Fauci told the press that he was not convinced COVID-19 came from a lab.
The Masks
Masks have been one of the most significant points of contention throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Fauci was one of the most prominent mask supporters in the United States. Although, he never had much scientific backing that they prevented COVID-19.
Fauci received an email from a former US Health Secretary stating, “Masks are really for infected people to prevent them from spreading infection to people who are not infected rather than protecting uninfected people from acquiring infection.”
Dr. Fauci declared the latter part of this email was true countless times throughout the pandemic. His colleague in China recommended mask use, and Fauci took this advice which was not supported by science.

There has been intense criticism of Fauci from both sides of the political spectrum. More conservative politicians have spoken out against the doctor than liberals. The Republican party wants a deeper investigation into the government’s highest-paid employee.
For the most part, Democrats have supported Fauci, saying he stayed on the side of caution. This excuse is not valid for the right because it appears the doctor was making decisions not backed by science.
This situation is still developing as many people throughout the nation want a thorough investigation of Fauci.
