Odds of Ex-President Donald Trump Running Again

Since Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election and dethroned Ex-President Donald Trump, one question about the predecessor has not seemed to fade. Will Donald Trump run again in 2024?

According to Jazz Sportsbook, Trump is not the favorite to win in 2024, but he is expected to run. Trump is +700 to win office for the second time in his political career.

2024 Odds

The Democratic Party has seemed to fall apart since Joe Biden took office. The southern border is in shambles, violence is spiking throughout the nation, and gas is costly.

Most likely, Joe Biden will not win or run in 2024. If he does represent the Democratic Party, it should be an easy win for Republicans. Biden is 78 years old, and he has not finished his first term.

The joke with Biden is that he cannot get a full sentence out without stumbling. This may be slightly exaggerated, but it’s not far from the truth. Biden is not the favorite to win in 2024.

He is behind Kamala Harris (+300), but not by much. Biden is +450 to earn a second term. After these two, Donald Trump is next on the list at +500.

Jazz Sportsbook considers Trump a threat in the 2024 election. He is the first Republican that is listed, and he is not far behind Harris or Biden.

Usually, the futures odds are much more spaced out when a president is in the first year of his presidency. We are still three years away from the presidential election, but Ex-President Donald Trump is already close to pushing the incumbents as the favorite.

This is remarkable considering that Trump has not announced his 2024 campaign. When and if he does, expect the odds for him to decrease and surpass Biden. I expect Harris to be the favorite because the incumbent always has an advantage, but it should be minimal.

Will Ex-President Donald Trump Run?

Ex-President Trump has been staying relevant even though he has been blocked from nearly every social media channel. There are a few things that hint at Trump running again in 2021.

The first is that he is the face of the Republican party. He changed the party’s culture and attracted the working class, which was not the case in past elections. Republicans are no longer the party of the wealthy, thanks to Trump.

It’s hard to imagine another Republican headlining the party in 2024. Some other conservatives that Jazz Sportsbook lists are Mike Pence (+1750) and Nikki Haley (+1200). Pence is less likely to win than Haley because many Republicans believe he turned against Trump at the end of his term.

Another reason Trump will probably run again is due to the campaign process and the spotlight. When Trump was running in 2020, he was doing multiple rallies per day all over the country.

He could not have maintained this schedule unless he loved the campaign process. At 74 currently, Trump will have an age advantage over Biden. I believe President Trump will run, but there is still a lot of time before campaigns start getting announced.
