Greta Thunberg issues a new challenge to all-talk world leaders

Greta Thunberg, the 18-year-old climate activist from Sweden, is back at it, and she still does not hold back. The environmental activist, who rose to fame in 2018 at the age of 15, is tired of nice speeches from world leaders regarding climate issues

Greta Thunberg slams “blah, blah, blah” from politicians

Thunberg does not spare anyone because she believes that lack of concrete action is hurting the planet to the point of no return. The activist’s latest comments went viral on Tuesday when she labeled the so-called empty words from powerful politicians as “blah, blah, blah.”

Thunberg appeared at the Youth4Climate summit in Milan, Italy, where she delivered a very sharp message. In her speech, she subtly targeted U.S. President Joe Biden, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and India’s prime minister, Narendra Modi.

Unlike many climate protesters before and after her, the Swedish teen has always gotten a lot of attention from the media. She is a gifted speaker who can deliver compelling and straightforward ideas to reach her audience. Over the years, she has become a true inspiration for young people around the globe.

She has also faced criticism from comedians to anti-climate politicians who say her plans are unrealistic, and the picture she is painting is too dark to be true.

Greta Thunberg was the ideal foil for Trump

Former American President Donald Trump enjoyed going after Thunberg to connect with his base. She was always the perfect political foil for him. Mr. Trump called her angry and suggested that she should spend more time with people her age.

After Thunberg’s speech in Davos last year, Trump sarcastically referred to her as a happy young girl looking forward to a bright future. While she takes a lot of hits, she is also good at hitting back.

As Mr. Trump departed the White House earlier this year, Thunberg tweeted about the right-wing politician being an “old man” looking forward to a bright future

The activist is great at using politicians’ own words against them. Trump’s successor, Biden, saw his campaign slogan “Build Back Better” turn into ridicule by the student.

Greta Thunberg draws a line for COP26

She wants bold action because she says the situation is dire and world leaders are not ambitious enough. Thunberg might have a point because carbon emissions are expected to rise by 16 percent in the next ten years. That is the opposite of what world leaders had envisioned.

The 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in October in Glasgow will see new pledges to reduce carbon emissions, but will this be enough?

Some leaders are already lowering the bar before the gathering, and they are mainly focused on keeping the “1.5C” goal alive.

Critics say Thunberg is leftist propaganda created by the media

In recent years, Thunberg has won over some of her critics. Many praise her courage for speaking truth to power on an issue where money still plays a huge role.

However, her opponents say she is just spewing leftist propaganda with the helpful hand of a complicit media that has made her famous for not doing much. They say nothing has really changed since she started her movement because the youth vote rarely materializes in critical elections
