GRADUATION PARTY SHOOTING IN MIAMI

Graduation parties are supposed to be a time to celebrate the miraculous achievements of students moving onto the next phase of their lives. However, this did not occur at a recent Florida graduation party. Here we have the latest info about Graduation Party shooting.

Three people were killed, and others were hurt in a shooting at a graduation party in Miami. There has been a lot of violence in the Miami area recently, and this shooting added another deadly event to the list.

Details of the Shooting at the Graduation Party

Three people have been confirmed dead, and five others were injured after multiple shooters opened fire at a Miami area graduation party. The party was not at a house where a shooter snuck in and attacked the people attending the event.

The party was at a strip mall, and as the event was attending, multiple cars pulled up and opened fire on the restaurant. Miami-Dade police Director Alfredo “Freddy” Ramirez spoke to news outlets after learning more about the shooting on Sunday.

He announced that one of the people killed was a state corrections officer. He said

“One or more vehicles pulled up and began to fire into the crowd.”

The shooting occurred in the suburb of Kendall around 2:00 AM on early Sunday morning. The police did not release the complete list of casualties or people wounded yet.

However, Tyleisha Taylor, the state corrections officer who was shot and dead, was made known to the public.

The 20-year-old had been working as an officer since January of 2020 at Dade Correctional Institution.

Comments Following the Crime Spike

Crime has spiked in Miami, and these drive-by shootings are becoming standard in the area. Miami has never been the safest city in Florida, but crime rates are growing exponentially.

Florida Secretary of Corrections Mark Inch said:

“We are devastated to learn a member of our FDC family, Officer Taylor, was killed in a fatal shooting. Our prayers are with her family as they navigate this unimaginable loss.”

The most heartfelt statement came from Daniella Levine Cava, the Miami-Dade County Mayor. Cava was disturbed by another shooting in her county and expressed that the crime must stop.

“We will not allow a small group of violent actors to terrorize our community, and violent offenders will face the full weight of the law. I’m fully committed to making sure Miami-Dade Police Department has all the resources they need to end this cycle of gun violence and prevent more tragedy by getting violent criminals off the street.”

Two of the people who died from the shooting did not perish because of bullets. They were in the cars who planned the attack. After the shooters fired at the crowd, they sped off and crashed into a wall as police entered the scene.

Police found one gun in the car, but it’s unknown how the vehicle was connected to the shooters. This shooting follows one that occurred on Memorial Day weekend, where three people were killed and 20 were wounded.

Police are still trying to figure out the cause of this event, and now they will have a new case added to the files.
